Nobody wants to be old
69In today's modern world, there is a lot of pressure on looking good, what more looking good at whatever age you may be. You can't avoid it. Celebrities in Hollywood are good examples. In recent years, many celebs aged 40+ have put the spotlight on what it means to be young despite one's chronological age. Can 40 be the new 30? Some people may say they don't mind growing old, but how honest are they in saying this? The fact is, nobody really wants to be old.
Now, you don't have to be rich to maintain your health and appearance, because it really boils down to how you approach aging; and there are many low cost ways to add extra quality years to your life and maintain your health and energy for a much longer time, compared to your ancestors.
Eating healthy and reducing stress can have significant impact on your health and vitality. For example, cutting down on red meat, and dairy and incorporating more fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Getting enough rest and sleep and also practising some controlled form of stress management can also be highly beneficial.
Only relatively recently have scientists discovered that one of the keys to quality longevity lay in the master hormone secreted by the pituitary gland, namely the human growth hormone (HGH). This hormone is responsible for the body's growth from birth right up till adulthood, and is highly essential to cell renewal; without it we would not be alive for long.
HGH is but one of the main factors in the aging puzzle. Telomeres are another key that may help us understand and manage aging better, but mostly any advances in this field lie in the future. Also, stem cell and organ replacement technology may well lead to longer lived humans; nonetheless, there is only so much science can do.
In the meantime, if you don't want an old and sicky future ahead, you should really plan now, and make the effort to stay young starting today. Not paying attention to your health is a one way ticket to on-track aging. Although the future may hold much promise as far as advancements in anti aging are concerned, it's what you do today that counts.
