Why Lasik surgery is the only viable option

Lasik eye surgery (laser assisted in situ keratomileusis) is in my opinion, the only viable treatment option for people who are suffering from myopia (nearsightedness) and hyperopia (farsightedness), simply because the natural methods like Jane Goodrich’s method or Bates Method only work for a small proportion of people.

So what are the types of people who would benefit from a natural approach to treating something like myopia? From my experience, only people who have the time, patience and freedom to lounge around all day in their home, can possibly cure their myopia. It is not possible for people who need to work a normal daytime job, because the fact they have to wear glasses means whatever improvements they accrued will be lost when the eyes adjust to the glasses again.

Natural vision improvement methods all center on a few tenets, namely proper diet, staying off glasses, and dedicated eye exercises done daily. In the relatively few cases of improvements, it normally took months before any significant measurable progress was made.

In order to retrain the eyes to see as they should, the biggest obstacle is – glasses. Each time you put on your glasses, it forces your eyes to accommodate them, and this is what sets any progress you may have made with eye exercises – backwards.

The good thing about Lasik is that it nips the problem in the bud – you don’t have to wear glasses anymore after you return home from your surgery, apart from resting a lot and taking care of your health. So all in all, Lasik is basically the only option to cure vision defects. That said, not everyone can be eligible for Lasik, because of the pre-screening process which determines the risk level to a particular individual. If you can afford it and are eligible though, Lasik is basically the only option you have.
